[2021.08.26, Taipei] Protecting Taiwan became an urgent issue in 2021 in the face of the pandemic’s impact that year and the risk of water and electricity shortages. SinoPac Holdings could not shy away from taking action. In 2019, we participated in the "A Million Acts of Green" campaign promoted by the Taiwan Environmental Information Association (TEIA). After three years of raising funds for acts of green, this year it will sponsor five "Environmental Lectures" in response to the TEIA's "Restore Our Taiwan" project so that we can start restoring Taiwan through environmental education and raising public awareness in land and ecology.

SinoPac Holdings stated that since 2019, in response to the "A Million Acts of Green" campaign promoted by the TEIA, SinoPac has continued to promote the concept of making acts of green a habit and making most of everyday life by raising millions of acts of green from the inside out. This year, we have supported "Earth Day" and "21 Days Green Carnival" events, as well as organizing "Love the Earth, Environment Photography" photo contest. In September, we will be involved in taking action to protect Taiwan and sponsor the "Environmental Lectures" in TEIA's "Restore Our Taiwan" campaign.

The "Restore Our Taiwan" project is a three-stage restoration initiative promoted through environmental education. The second stage, "Environmental Lectures", is sponsored by SinoPac Holdings. The five lectures to be held throughout Taiwan identify major environmental crisis issues and remind us to care for the land we live on. The first session will be held on September 4th. Dr. Chi-Ming Peng will present "The Turning Point of Climate Change: A New Way of Thinking for the Government, Businesses, and the Public". This session aims at letting the public understand the relationship between weather and life, new policies regarding climate change in various countries, and the new changes in Taiwan. The second lecture on September 11th will be given by Ke Chin-Yuan, the director of eco-documentary films, who will share how to use documentary filmography to reveal the truth about the environment through the power of images.

The "Environmental Lectures" will be held on various campuses on September 27th, September 29th, and October 5th, with the themes of "Cold spring wetlands ", "Protecting mountains and forests", and "Biodiversity", with special guests,  Dr. Yuh-Wen Chiu, the producer, Wei-Hsiung Chan, and Dr. Gene-Sheng Tung, respectively. The topics of these lectures are "When cold springs are no longer fresh, where should the indigenous people who live by water and grass go?", "We can't always rely on the sacred mountain to     protect us; what should we do for her?", and "Local perspectives on global plant conservation—an ethnobotanist’s perspective ". The lectures will provide insight to  young students about the environmental and ecological issues we are currently facing so that the concept of environmental protection will be deeply rooted in the younger generation.
