S&P Global, a leading international sustainability rating agency, today (11th) released the 2026 Sustainability Yearbook, in which SinoPac Holdings once again distinguished itself, securing a position in the Top 5% of the global banking industry. The recognition highlights the company’s strong resilience in sustainability governance and its forward looking strategic approach. It also reaffirms SinoPac Holdings’ long standing commitment and exceptional leadership in advancing sustainability.
S&P Global compiles its annual Sustainability Yearbook based on the results of the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), selecting companies with industry leading ESG performance. SinoPac Holdings has been included in the Yearbook every year since 2021 and continues to rank among the Top 5% of global banks in 2026. The company demonstrated high level governance maturity and world class sustainability management across key areas such as board independence, transparency and disclosure, business ethics, policy influence, climate strategy, financial inclusion, and data privacy protection—underscoring its comprehensive ESG competitiveness.
To strengthen sustainability governance, SinoPac Holdings has continued to enhance its governance framework, establishing an independent Sustainability Committee under the Board of Directors, chaired personally by the Chairperson. The committee includes all independent directors of the holding company and board representatives from major subsidiaries to ensure alignment and consensus. SinoPac Holdings is also the first financial holding company in Taiwan to establish a Sustainability Office at the board level, led by a Senior Executive Vice President serving as Chief Sustainability Officer. This office oversees strategy development and cross functional coordination, setting a high benchmark for sustainability governance across the domestic financial sector.
In response to the global transition to net zero, SinoPac Holdings secured board approval in 2022 for its commitment to achieving net zero operations by 2030 and net zero across its entire investment and financing portfolio by 2050. Since then, the company has made significant progress, including obtaining SBTi validation for its science-based targets, voluntarily adopting renewable energy (with renewable electricity usage reaching 26.6% in 2025), implementing energy efficiency initiatives and an internal carbon pricing mechanism, and expanding renewable energy financing. Its subsidiary, Bank SinoPac, remains the only financial institution to receive the “Top Solar Awards – Best Financial Service Provider Award” from Taiwan’s Bureau of Energy, Ministry of Economic Affairs for ten consecutive years. SinoPac Holdings has also committed to phasing out financing and investments related to coal and unconventional oil and gas without credible transition measures by 2030. The company continues to innovate sustainable financial products and work closely with clients to advance low-carbon transitions.
SinoPac Holdings also continues to deepen its social commitments, emphasizing employee rights and gender equality, and fostering a friendly, diverse, and safe workplace. The proportion of female managers continues to grow. The company has also established robust talent development systems and comprehensive well being programs to enhance organizational resilience. Through financial education, community initiatives, and support programs for disadvantaged groups, SinoPac extends its positive social impact and fulfills its corporate social responsibility.
SinoPac Holdings stated that it will continue strengthening sustainability governance and advancing related actions to create greater value for stakeholders, moving steadily toward its vision of “Together, a Better Life.”
