Demonstrating the influence of green finance, Bank SinoPac continues to advance sustainability through three major pillars: energy transition development, operational optimization, and public advocacy. Bank SinoPac stated that as of the end of 2025, it held roughly a 30% market share in solar power plant financing, with a green energy financing balance[1] of NT$165.3 billion, representing 12% year on year growth. The associated power generation is sufficient to supply more than 1.56 million households[2] annually. In parallel, the bank continues to strengthen operational sustainability and promote environmental initiatives, progressing toward its corporate vision: “Together, a better life.”
Driving Corporate Net-Zero Transition and Promoting Renewable Energy
In the area of energy transition, Bank SinoPac noted that as of the end of last year, it ranked first in Taiwan for solar power plant financing. Its Green Energy Electricity Trading Trust Platform collaborates with 37 electricity sellers and facilitates the annual transfer of approximately 800 million kWh of green electricity—equivalent to the carbon reduction impact of 980 Daan Forest Parks—while supporting the liberalization of green power trading. The bank also served as lead arranger for the offshore wind maritime engineering vessel syndicated loan for Dong Fang Offshore Co., Ltd., the largest financing of its kind in the industry, supporting the construction of specialized vessels essential for offshore wind development. Additionally, Bank SinoPac was the first to introduced Taiwan’s preferential loan program for solar facilities damaged by natural disasters, supporting post disaster restoration and to ensure a stable supply of renewable energy.
Advancing Green Operations with Over 30% Renewable Energy Procured
Bank SinoPac has simultaneously strengthened its own operational sustainability. In alignment with SinoPac Holdings’ target of achieving net-zero emissions in its own operations by 2030, the bank procured 11.37 million kWh of green electricity last year—equivalent to 37.9% of its total annual electricity consumption. The bank has also installed a 22.5 kW rooftop solar PV system on its owned premises, generating approximately 21,000 kWh per year. Further, in partnership with Star Trade, its Jinan Road Branch was transformed into a “Net-Zero Branch” integrating energy efficiency, energy generation, and energy storage, operating under a “store energy by day, use by night” model to advance green operations.
Sustainability Advocacy Gains Strong Recognition
Bank SinoPac emphasized that it has hosted the “Green Action Forum” for four consecutive years to foster dialogue between government and industry. The bank has been awarded the “Top Solar System Award – Outstanding Financial Services Award” for ten consecutive years—the only financial institution to receive the honor for a full decade. In addition, Bank SinoPac was named “Best Sustainable Bank in Taiwan” for two consecutive years by FinanceAsia Awards 2025, and recognized as “Taiwan Domestic Green Finance Bank of the Year” by Asian Banking & Finance. Its TCFD[3] Report has been rated “Outstanding” for two consecutive years (2024–2025) by Center for Business Sustainability of National Chengchi University (NCCU), underscoring strong domestic and international recognition of its sustainability efforts.
