SinoPac Holdings Officially Joined TNFD and PBAF to Enhance Natural Capital Disclosure and Sustainability Commitment

2025-02-19

[February 19, 2025, Taipei] SinoPac Holdings has officially joined the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) as a Forum member and Adopter, as well as the Partnership for Biodiversity Accounting Financials (PBAF) as a Supporter in 2025. This move demonstrates SinoPac Holdings' firm commitment to deepening natural capital disclosure and sustainable development.

The TNFD is dedicated to helping businesses and financial institutions identify, assess, and disclose their dependencies, impacts, risks, and opportunities related to nature. Participating companies are required to disclose nature-related information according to the TNFD framework. The PBAF, an initiative related to the Partnerships for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF), provides financial institutions with a comprehensive methodology to measure and manage the dependencies and impacts of their investments and financing on biodiversity, thereby effectively addressing related risks and opportunities and promoting environmentally friendly financial decisions.

SinoPac Holdings recognizes the importance of nature-related issues and global trends. In 2024, following the 15th corporate responsibility goal of the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) and the four-step LEAP (Locate, Evaluate, Assess, and Prepare) methodology of the TNFD framework, SinoPac Holdings integrated nature-related issues into its original TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) report. The company published the "2023 Climate and Nature-Related Financial Disclosures Report," ensuring compliance with both TCFD and TNFD disclosure requirements.

By participating in international organizations such as TNFD and PBAF, SinoPac Holdings actively engages with global financial institutions to exchange the latest developments and research trends in biodiversity. This participation helps SinoPac stay updated with the latest assessment methodologies from these organizations, enhancing disclosure standards and leading stakeholders towards a sustainable future.

SinoPac Holdings has always been attentive to environmental protection and related issues. As early as the end of 2022, SinoPac co-initiated the " Taiwan Nature Positive Initiative (TNPI)" with the Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Association, actively participating in and supporting various promotional activities and professional talent development. Through diverse forums and the promotion and application of natural capital management tools, SinoPac Holdings aims to enhance domestic enterprises' understanding and awareness of nature and biodiversity issues. Additionally, SinoPac Holdings collaborates deeply with conservation units to promote and implement biodiversity conservation concepts, striving to create a more sustainable and greener future.

In the face of the global trends and currents of climate change, natural biodiversity, and sustainable development, SinoPac Holdings will continue to focus on related issues and initiatives, deeply cultivating our sustainable financial products and services from multiple perspectives. In the future, SinoPac Holdings will leverage innovative thinking to grasp the blueprint for climate, nature, and sustainable development, transforming finance and creating a better life.
