[Feb 3rd, 2023, Taipei] SinoPac Holdings has long committed to promoting a diversified and inclusive friendly workplace, and recently selected as a component of Bloomberg Gender Equality Index (GEI) for the first time in 2023. A total of 484 enterprises from 45 countries and regions, 11 industries, with a market value of USD 16 trillion, were selected for the index. Only 16 enterprises are from Taiwan.
In 2016, Bloomberg launched the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index, which annually selects enterprises around the globe reaching a high degree of gender equality benchmark. Corporate diversity and gender equality policies were evaluated through a total of 70 indicators, allowing investors to have a comprehensive understanding of the effort of the enterprises in promoting diversity and gender equality. The five key aspects are leadership & talent pipeline, equal pay & gender pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies, and external brand.
SinoPac Holdings proactively implements gender equality policies, promoting outstanding female talents. It also proactively promotes gender equal talent development plan, and sets proportional targets for female positions and gender diverse positions across all management levels. The Company participates in global market salary surveys every year to ensure equal pay for equal work and market competitiveness, and its performance in female leadership and talent training, gender equality and gender pay equality is higher than the index norm.
Committing to a friendly gender equal workplace is an integral part of SinoPac Holdings' value. In addition to incorporating sexual harassment prevention into the basic education of all employees, the President of SinoPac Holdings signed an anti-discrimination and anti-harassment commitment in 2022, which proactively fostered a pluralistic and inclusive workplace.
